Description: The U.S. Department of Education will host a series of seven regional Teacher-to-Teacher Summer Workshops. The Department will partner with some of the best teachers to share with their colleagues research-based practices that they have successfully applied in the classroom to close the achievement gap and help all children learn and progress. In order to foster ongoing learning and development after the workshops the Department will provide participants DVDs, publications, suggested Internet sites and other resources that they can take back to their schools and share with colleagues. There is no registration fee for the summer workshops. The Department will cover your hotel costs for two nights and provide a travel stipend. For those attendees traveling more than 50 miles to the workshops, you will receive $150 travel stipend. For those traveling within the 50 mile radius the travel stipend is $50. Space is limited.
