Technology Tips for Differentiated Instruction
Access to the general curriculum is the right of all students, regardless of special needs, disabilities, or diverse learning styles. The issue of equity addresses the digital divide and the importance of providing equal access and relevant content to all communities. This theme addresses the practical issues associated with guaranteeing that this right is realized by all students in our schools. Help and resources for attaining equitable access and integrating technology into the classroom are also provided.

MAR*TEC working with the Maryland State Department of Education created an Accessibility Toolkit. These tools are designed to help educators understand what makes instructional software accessible to students with disabilities.

The toolkit is based on the software standards detailed in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. This is a document which details the tools in the MAR*TEC Accessibility Toolkit and describes their location.
