Rubrics for Measuring Technology Skills

Back to Topic

Archived Information Only - This site will not be updated.

Rubrics are excellent assessment tools when you need to make judgments about a learner's progress in complex or subjective situations. A rubric helps define specifically what the observer is looking for and where a learner's skills fall along a continuum.

To learn more about developing rubrics and to explore tools you can use to develop your own rubrics, visit Rubrics for Web Lessons, written by Dr. Bernie Dodge and Nancy Pickett. Despite the title, the information provided is not limited to Web-based lessons. You may also be interested in Chicago Public School's Tips for Choosing Rubrics.

The links provided here connect you directly to rubrics you may use to evaluate technology-based student work. There are also links for teachers to self-evaluate their skills in using technology, and to tools administrators can use when evaluating technology-based lessons.
