Technology Planning Checklist – Visioning (Technology Planning Checklist-Visioning pdf_17k)
If your school or district needs to reaffirm your vision for the use of technology or has not developed a vision for how technology supports student learning, then this checklist will provide direction on how and where to begin the visioning process. Use the questions on the checklist to develop a dialog among committee members on each of the items. Once ideas have been collected, condense the key items into a formal vision statement.

District Technology Planning Template (District Technology Planning Template pdf_28.6k)

Directions to complete the template:
Technology planning team: List all members of the planning team. To ensure the "buy in" of the total school community, it is recommended that the committee include the principal, teachers (both avid technology users and non-users), classified staff, parents, and community members, including potential business partners.

District Vision for Technology Use: Describe the district's vision for the use of technology. Visions are focused on learning, not on the technology. Think of a parent, visitor or a business partner visiting a school What will they observe staff and students doing when they are using technology. For help with the visioning process use the suggested process guidelines (Process guidelines pdf_5.5k).
